We like to speak clearly and answer your questions

How can I exercise my rights?

When you choose to regain control of your data and exercise your privacy rights in the digital economy, the MyDataMood platform helps you do it in an automated, free and simple way.

At this time you can exercise your rights to Access and Object through MyDataMood. To do so, you need to:

  • select the right you want to exercise (you can read the description in the corresponding section)
  • choose the company or companies in respect of which to exercise this option
  • authorise MyDataMood to exercise the rights on your behalf by voluntary representation

And that's it! We will notify you of the progress of the request and any new developments on the part of the companies.

Furthermore, when the “amicable” process with the companies is over (which is a pre-requisite for filing a claim), if you’re not satisfied with the result you’ll be able to download your entire dossier in order to file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

How can I monetise my data?

When you choose to get the benefit of your data in the digital economy, the MyDataMood platform allows you to do so securely, under your control.

Companies need to know who their current and potential customers are in order to send them personalised offers. On the MyDataMood platform, you’re in control at all times of the data you want to share with companies: BIO (general characteristics such as gender, age, education, etc.); contact details (e-mail and telephone); and interests (cinema, sports, technology, etc.).

Once you’ve provided information about yourself you can go to the "share data" section and choose the sectors you want to have access to your data.

When you provide availability for 3 or more sectors, you’ll be able to monetise your data by accessing The Mooders Club. Plus, when companies access your data, you’ll earn even more.

When a company has access to your data it may use the data for 3 months, but after that time MyDataMood will automatically revoke the permission to access your data. You don't have to worry about anything.

How does the MyDataMood benefit area work?

First provide the data you want to share: your BIO, which are your main characteristics; your contact details (phone/e-mail) and your profile, which includes your interests and activities in different areas.

Then make that data available for companies to access. You’ll always be able to select the data you want to be available and to which specific companies.

As soon as you make your contact details available for 3 or more companies, you’ll become a member of The Mooders Club which gives you access to interesting benefits and direct discounts on well-known brands and companies in a variety of sectors.

A company will then access your data. At that time, a payment will be deposited in your Mooders Club account. Please note: this is your money and you decide how you want to use it, whether by taking advantage of Mooders Club offers or letting it accumulate.

When a company has access to your contact details (which you have previously set as "available"), you are giving your consent for them to contact you during the next 3 months.

After 3 months, MyDataMood will automatically revoke on your behalf the consent for the company to use your data.

What does consent mean?

When you make your data available to a company, you are giving consent:

  • to MyDataMood to make them accessible to that company,
  • to the company you’ve shared your data with in order to use them as follows:
    • To send you personalised offers and commercial communications (for a period of 3 months).
    • To use the data included in your profile (BIO, interests, activities, etc.) that you’ve shared with the company to get to know you better and personalise their offers. This may include the application of segmentation and profiling algorithms.

You are not giving your consent for the company to disclose your data to a third party beyond what is strictly necessary for the two previous points.

How can you revoke consent?

You can stop making your data available to companies at any time, at which point you are revoking your consent:

  • to MyDataMood to make them accessible to the companies whose accessibility you had revoked
  • to the companies to use them in the manner indicated above, 3 months after you give your consent.

Why can I earn benefits for my data?

Companies need information about their current and potential customers and users in order to send them their commercial offers in a more personalised way. Unfortunately, there is little transparency in the way in which these data are obtained.

Through MyDataMood you have the option of providing companies with your information directly so that they can send you their personalised offers. These companies will reward you with monetary benefits in exchange for accessing your information without intermediaries.

What is the difference between data availability and data access?

You decide which data to make available for a particular company to access.

On the other hand, companies may or may not be interested in accessing your data, since you may not fit the profile for the products or services they are offering at a given time.

We therefore make a distinction between availability, which is decided by you, and access to the information you provide, which is decided by the company.

What is the Mooders Club?

We want everyone to be able to participate in the digital economy and feel like you’re part of this #NewDataDeal, either to earn benefits for your data or to exercise your privacy rights and regain control of them.

The Mooders Club gives you immediate access to benefits and discounts for making your data available, even if no company has accessed them yet.

How much does MyDataMood pay for the data and how much does it earn?

MyDataMood is not a direct user of the data, but the platform enables companies that are interested to access the data that users provide voluntarily, consciously and transparently. In other words, MyDataMood acts as a distributor of user data so that users can participate in the digital economy, preventing companies from acquiring the data in an opaque way that is not controlled by the user.

Companies pay MyDataMood for the data they access and MyDataMood splits this revenue 50/50 with the data owners. Why does MyDataMood keep part of the profits from user data? Because otherwise it would be impossible to develop and maintain MyDataMood. All services have a cost, the only difference is that MyDataMood clearly recognises this.

Not all data is worth the same or at all times. Some profiles are more interesting than others to companies and it also depends on the marketing or sales campaigns they are running at any given time. Likewise, generic data (e.g., e-mails) are more valuable if they are accompanied by specific information such as interest in buying auto insurance.

How much is the data worth?

MyDataMood is much more than a way to earn money for personal data. MyDataMood seeks to spark a revolution for all digital users to participate in the digital economy and to make it easier for users to manage their privacy and profit in a controlled, secure and transparent way.

But it’s normal that we should want to know "how much our data is worth". The first thing to remember is that there are two main types of data:

  • Your contact details such as telephone number or e-mail, which are the ones that companies need to send you their offers and campaigns.
  • Your characteristics, whether declared (gender, age, profession, interests, etc.) or digital behaviour (websites you visit, what you buy, places you frequent, etc.).

Contact data are what companies need the most, so they are more valuable and even more so when accompanied by some characteristics or interests, especially if they fit in with what the companies want to offer.

MyDataMood is a platform that enables users to make their contact details available to companies, adding information about their personalities and interests as users see fit in exchange for monetary compensation.

  • When the data are e-mails or postal addresses not associated with any specific interest, they can be worth anywhere from €0.10 to €0.25 to each company that accesses them!
  • If the contact information (e-mail) is associated with additional information about interests, characteristics, etc., it can be worth anywhere from €0.25 to €1 to each company that accesses it!
  • If the data pertain to a user who is really interested in a certain product or service, such as renewing auto insurance, for example, it can be worth anywhere from €6 to €10, or even more to each company that accesses it!

If we think about the number of products or services that we purchase throughout the year, and we understand that we’re getting something in return for allowing companies to send us their offers for products and services that we need, suddenly we realise that our data is worth money and that it’s preferable that we be the ones who receive the benefits, rather than the platforms extracting our data in a non-transparent way.

Please note that MyDataMood is a very new initiative. Thanks to people like you, we’re starting a revolution so that all users can benefit from the digital economy, but there is a long way to go.

For the time being, the cash income we can aspire to is modest and not immediate. The companies access the data in aggregate form. Therefore, in order to obtain benefits for your data we need to have a minimum number of profiles similar to yours.

We are constantly striving for greater fairness in the way companies pay for the data they use and to ensure that they increasingly prefer to access legitimate and transparent data rather than "mining" information in an opaque way with no benefit to users.

Can I unsubscribe?

MyDataMood is a very new initiative. Thanks to people like you, we are starting a revolution so that all users can benefit from the digital economy, but there is a long way to go.

For the time being, the cash income we can aspire to is modest and not immediate. The companies access the data in aggregate form. Therefore, in order to obtain benefits for your data we need to have a minimum number of profiles similar to yours.

We guarantee that the information you have registered with MyDataMood will not be disclosed to any company without informing you and without compensating you financially. However, if you believe that the compensation is insufficient, there are two things you can do:

  • you directly delete the information (when you update your profile, your most recent status will be saved)
  • request cancellation at [email protected], we will unsubscribe you and delete your data.

But we hope you'll continue supporting this revolution with us!

What happens to data that are not used?

MyDataMood is a platform that makes it possible for users to monetise their data.

Therefore, for users to obtain benefits for their data, there must be companies interested in them and this can depend on the user's profile, having a minimum volume of similar profiles, the time of the year and the campaigns underway, etc.

When a user fills in their information and makes it available to at least 3 sectors, they have access to The Mooders Club with its benefits and discounts, even when there is no company interested in their data yet.

If there are no companies interested in a user's data, that user is free to delete his or her information at any time. We guarantee that the information registered on MyDataMood will not be disclosed to any company without the user being informed and without receiving the corresponding payment. For the time being, there is no automatic deletion of data after a certain period of time, but users can unsubscribe at any time and their data will no longer be available on the platform.

Why do we need your ID?

Thank you for trusting MyDataMood. There are 2 reasons why we ask you for proof of identity:

  • On the one hand, it is a legal requirement in order for us to represent you with the companies in respect of which you wish to exercise your privacy rights.
  • On the other hand, all the benefits you obtain from sharing your data are subject to taxation. We take care of everything, but we need your proof of identification along with your postal code in order to pay the tax agency. The amounts you receive are therefore net of taxes.
